Claire Hamilton recently joined ChemCERT as their latest online trainer and assessor. She holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and an Advanced Diploma in Business (Marketing & PR). Claire’s career began in marketing in 2006 before she transitioned to primary school teaching in 2014. In 2021, she embraced a new role in agriculture alongside her father, Ian Johnson, a seasoned ChemCERT trainer with over 45 years of industry experience.
Together, they run their business IJ Ag Services, specialising in auditing, consulting and training within the agricultural and food safety sectors. Claire is a HACCP auditor and practitioner, working with a diverse clientele including olive oil producers, pest controllers, market agents, manufacturers and transport companies. Their consultancy approach focuses on assisting growers in managing compliance requirements for standards such as Freshcare Food Safety & Quality, Freshcare Supply Chain and HARPS. This includes supporting growers in audit preparation and day-to-day compliance management, encompassing responsibilities like chemical storage, disposal, record-keeping, calibration, usage, supplier management and testing.
Located in the Sydney basin, Claire offers extensive support to growers across Australia, both locally on-site and through remote consultations. In addition to her role as a ChemCERT trainer, she actively delivers Freshcare Food Safety & Quality training alongside Ian, providing growers with tailored training based on their business scope.
Despite her recent transition to agriculture, Claire is dedicated to continuous learning and collaboration with industry peers, clients and online learners. .
