Eligibility and Application
*Agskilled is an industry led training strategy by the NSW Government
AgSkilled is an industry-led training strategy by the NSW Government to upskill and better prepare the agricultural workforce for fast-moving change driven by industry innovation, research and technology through vocational education and training (VET), across the agricultural plant-growing and livestock industry sectors.
Agskilled is funding some courses for eligible participants including our:
AQF3 Chemical Accreditation (Face to Face)
- AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals
- AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases
Am I eligible?
To be eligible for AgSkilled funding you must meet the below criteria:
- aged 15 years or older
- have left school
- live or work in New South Wales
- are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
As the funding is directly related to the agricultural industry, specifically Fibre, Grains, Production Horticulture and Livestock, you must also be employed in a related industry. Examples include:
- Grains
- Production Horticulture
- Viticulture
- Rice
- Cotton
- Fodder & Forage Crops
- Hay & Silage
- Livestock including Beef cattle, dairy, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, honeybees, other livestock and animal management services used for commercial agricultural food and fibre production
Please note, students can only obtain AgSkilled funding once for the competencies undertaken.
As part of the application process you will need to provide a letter of support for your employee or industry representatives. The provider Letter of Support must contain the applicants:
- Role and/or interest in the identified agricultural industry sectors,
- Relevance of AgSkilled training to their current/future role/interest,
- Projected/expected farming practice change as a result of AgSkilled training.
